Hosting a Simpsons marathon party
July 07, 2009
The summertime is the perfect opportunity for television fans to host marathon parties in their homes, either as a way to catch up on a past season or to relive some favorite ones.
One show that lends itself to such a party is the animated comedy The Simpsons which has 20 seasons worth of material to choose from.
Most of the seasons are available on DVDs, making them readily accessible for a large gathering of Simpsons fans.
Start by sending out party invitations asking people to list their all-time favorite episodes. It may be wise to incorporate a list of 10-15 episodes for guests to choose from.
Once the episodes are chosen, get some of Homer Simpson favorite snacks to serve to the guests. These includes pretzels, chips, peanuts and bacon. Yes, bacon.
In terms of decorations, it may be a fun challenge to recreate the Simpson living room, at least with the couch against the wall and the sailboat picture on the wall hanging crooked.
Consider breaking up the party with Simpsons trivia in between viewings. This will make the event lively, especially if there's a special Simpsons-themed prize at the end for the person who answers the most questions correctly.
