Movie one-liner game for office parties
July 08, 2009
Despite the best efforts of a party planner, office parities can exhibit a certain element of awkwardness, most likely because some employees may not be used to "hanging out" with each other in a social context.
As a way to break the ice, consider having a movie one-liner game where teams are read a line from a movie and are forced to guess the film title.
For this to be successful, be sure to organize the teams yourself to avoid one section of the office gravitating together for a team. For instance, if your office consists of a sales and production side, make sure each team has an equal amount of representatives from both camps.
Once you know how the teams will be organized, start thinking of the movies you'd like to feature in the game. While comedies may be easier to pull one-line quotations from, consider adding in more obscure lines from either dramas or independent films.
The films you pick should not dictate the party decorations. Instead, try to throw off the contestants by hanging up film posters of movies you know are not involved in the game.
