Throw a perfect game with a baseball party
April 20, 2009
The baseball season has started, which means warmer weather and having the kids bring their mitt to the ballpark in the hopes of catching a foul or homerun ball.
However, because of the popularity of some baseball teams in big cities, some people may not be able to attend live baseball games with their families due to high ticket prices or consistent sell-out crowds.
This doesn't mean your children and their friends will have to lose out on the experience of the ball field. With a few appropriate party decorations and activities, you can bring some of the ballpark atmosphere into your home for a baseball-themed party.
While recreating the entire ballpark isn't necessary, incorporating one aspect of your city's field may be fun. For instance, the Boston Red Sox's Fenway Park has the Green Monster, which can be simply made with household products.
As for food, only ballpark fare will do, which includes hotdogs, popcorn, ice cream and, of course, boxes of Cracker Jacks that should be held high during the seventh inning stretch.
Teaching the party goers about such traditions as singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame can also give the party another element of fun.
