Throw a hoops party and score
April 17, 2009
If your NBA team is one of the lucky few who made it to the post season, it may be the perfect time for you to throw a playoff party for you and your friends.
As any sports fan will tell you, watching games with a large, rambunctious group can be a lot of fun and affords amateur party planners the chance to be a little creative with the party theme.
Clearly, if everyone in attendance is a fan of the same team, placing the team's logo on the walls or using paper cups with them displaying the team's name is key. However, since this may not always be the case, neutral party decorations may be wise, such as basketballs and hoops.
One way to add an element of fun to the event, as well as assist in the clean up, is to set up a couple of waste baskets in the room for people to throw their trash away. In some cases, the trash-throwing game may get more competitive than the game on television.
With food, snacks are best and be sure to have variety, such as mixing in a bag of pretzels with some home-made appetizers on the table.
