Mom deserves a party so throw her one

After putting up with all of your shenanigans growing up, your mom deserves a huge party thrown in her favor.

How lucky for you then that Mother's Day is coming up on May 10, which affords you the opportunity to honor the woman who brought you in this world and, in some cases, atone for any past mistakes on your part.

While most families go the regular route of taking mom out to a nice dinner or to a movie, it may be more fun to throw her a party at the house with close friends and family. You could even bill it as a way to hold a family reunion, which is something mom might appreciate more than a sweater or gardening tools.

Since it's spring, an outdoor party would be ideal with some of your mother's favorite colors incorporated into the Mother's Day celebration through balloons, table cloths, napkins and streamers. If mom has a favorite type of flower, you better be sure it's displayed as much as possible.

One idea to make the party special is to create a video with everyone at the party giving the guest of honor a personalized Mother's Day message.
