This morning CNN.com reported on a survey conducted by the National Retail Federation, which suggests that Black Friday shopping will jump by more than 16 percent this year.
If you're one of the 57 million people who plan on heading to the shopping malls, our advice is to go in with a plan of attack. Being organized will make it easier to get the most out of the great deals that this day has to offer.
Though it might be tempting to sleep off some of the excesses of Turkey day, consider getting up early. Black Friday traditionally boasts some pretty serious shoppers they'll be there bright and early to snag all of the amazing deals. Getting to the malls as early as possible will increase your chances of getting to the items you have your eye on before they're all sold out.
Have all of your coupons organized before you head out, and have a list prepared that includes all of the information you need, like what you want to purchase at each store and which prices were advertised.
If there are a few big ticket items on your list, like a flat screen TV or a set of golf clubs, head for those first. Many offers are limited to the supplies that the store has in stock.
Something else to keep in mind this year is that many online retailers, like Amazon, are also offering Black Friday deals. If doing your Christmas shopping in your pajamas sounds appealing, log on in the early morning to get some great deals.
