Kate Hudson hosts a holiday bash

Kate Hudson typically throws a Halloween party, but the newly-single actress apparently saw fit to host a star-studded holiday party this year as well.

Hudson and her ex, Yankee's player Alex Rodriguez, were planning to attend a slew of parties together, but in the wake of their split, Hudson has made her own holiday fun, claims AZcentral.com.

The L.A. Times reported that friends and family were treated to a lavish shindig at Hudson's home in the Pacific Palisades. At the door, guests were greeted by female valets wearing skimpy Santa costumes.

Big names in attendance included Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Hudson's mother and step-father, friends Liv Tyler, Tobie Maguire, Kate Beckinsale and Jason Statham, as well as couple Josh Duhamel and Fergie, according to the news source.

A source told People magazine that carolers sang at the start of the night, but as the evening wore on a DJ supplied the tunes. The festivities carried on into the early hours in the morning, and Hudson was reportedly in a great mood for the entire evening.
