Mariah Carey spreads Christmas cheer in Aspen

While some celebrities spend the holidays partying in exotic locales, Mariah Carey made a point to spend time with neglected children in Aspen, Colorado. Carey's husband, singer Nick Cannon, accompanied the star.
The singer spent Monday afternoon at the Aspen Recreation Center with 35 underprivileged children between the ages of 9 and 12, AspenTimes.com reports.
Before Carey and Cannon arrived, the kids spent about four hours hanging out by the center's pool, attempting the rock climbing wall and ice skating. They even had a visit from jugglers and musicians.
For the children, the best moment of the day might have been when Carey and Cannon pulled up in a sleigh, accompanied by Santa Clause.
Earlier in the holiday season, Carey was surrounded by some controversy when The New York Daily News reported that she requested 20 white kittens and 100 white doves to be allowed onstage when she flipped the light switch to launch Christmas at Westfield in London.
