We used them as favors for our wedding in Mexico! They weren't bad to cart down, very light and everyone loved them! Well worth it!

They do have an "on/off" button but the only way we got any home was to take out the batteries or if they weren't used. We tried to put the plastic pull tab back in but it's too flimsy and the batteries were in too tight to fit anything else. Just bring a little screw driver and tape; 30 seconds and you're ready to travel! We were even able to use the batteries out of the ones the 3yr old broke. Plus they still do make the shaking noise after they're dead so have fun!

The handle broke too easily from the marca causing a choking hazard and potential eye damage to animals. I will say after the handle was broken the light lasted for weeks...even months.

We gave these away at our elementary school dance. There were a lot of unhappy children when the maracas dropped on the floor and cracked. These would be good for adults or older children.

These maracas started out as a big hit at my son's Bar Mitzvah party. However, any that were dropped on the floor or tabletop shattered to pieces. The dance floor was covered with shattered "glass" that we had to sweep up. by the end of the night, very few were in once piece. Very disappointed. My caterer begged me not to use them again for my daughter's upcoming party!
