This is a great visual, well priced, film related party prop. Clapboard markings can be seen from both sides of item. Cardboard is not very strong so more support than suggested is required but with a little extra tape/glue the centerpieces can be made to stand correctly. Give yourself sufficient time to put these items together.

I bought this product online at another retailer, but wanted to come here to give my opinion. First of all, they are made of a lightweight cardboard. The directions are pretty much worthless, but it only takes a minute to sit and look over the 5 pieces to make one centerpiece. I ordered 70 (yes, SEVENTY!!) of these to assemble as centerpieces for a school fundraiser. Trust me when I say >>USE A LOW TEMP HOT GLUE GUN FOR THIS PROJECT!!<< The directions tell you to use about 4-5 pieces of tape to hold the flimsy filmstrip in a standing postion between the two 'movie reels'. There's no way this is gonna work!! I cut a black piece of cardstock just a slightly wider than the 'film strip' and hot glued the black cardstock onto the white circle that is already printed on the bottom reel. Using hot glue, the cardstock will stand up straight (use two 12inch long pieces glued together end to end). It takes about 15 minutes to construct one centerpiece from start to finish (without interruptions) when using hot glue. It took me about 3 days to make all 70 centerpieces. To give the centerpiece a little height, I hot glued the completed item to a box that I wrapped in silver wrapping paper. They will dress up our fundraiser tables very nicely. I am looking forward to seeing all of them at the hall next weekend. Now, I just have to figure out how I am going to transport all of them to the hall in my minivan since they cannot stack on top of each other. If you are on the fence about whether or not to purchase this item, I suggest you do it. They are a nice product for the money. Just make sure you have the time to put them together. A LOW TEMP HOT GLUE GUN WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND WITH THIS PROJECT and there will be no Tylenol need for a headache :) I hope my review helped you in your decision. Good luck!!

It was really great for my Oscar party, but putting it together was a little awkward as the film strip that went between the top and bottom reels should have been stiffer - but everyone thought it was quite appropriate and wanted to know where i got it.

Where you see the film on the reel on the base, I cut a piece of lightweight cardboard from the packaging to tape the film onto and then assembled it. I do not know how it would have stood without the extra support, it was kinda flimsy.
It was attractive and looked nice on the table. We wrote the event and table numbers on the clapbaord with a silver marker. We also bought gold plastic square dinner plates at a party store and turned them upside down and set the centerpieces on them. This elevated them above the tableware and really set them off of the black tablecloths.
They take a few minutes to assemble so give yourself time. I had to transport 18 of them assembled. Thankfully, I had a lot of boxes to store them in so they stayed intact in the car, but definitely plan for this.

These were great centerpeices for our Hollywood themed company party. Each table was a different theme and it was easy to write the movie title on them. However, they took some time to assemble. Use a glue gun rather than tape and then they will actually be quite durable.

Great Centerpiece if you are on a limited budget. This was for an 8th grade "Hollywood theme" semi-formal. Required glue (I used a glue gun) instead of tape. It worked much better and was faster to assemble.

Used as centerpieces for Fashion Show Hollywood Theme. They really looked nice on the table. Centered them on a 30" silver star with confetti stars sprinkled around. A little complicated to put together, but once you did one, it was a piece of cake!

We are having a movie themed wedding and I wanted to have center pieces with the theme. These are cool looking, I just wish they were made of stiffer cardboard. I will take advice from previous person who put a pizza box base to it. I will cover them with black or silver paper and there will be other items besides this too, to decorate our tables. These were fun for theme though.

I purchased this item elsewhere but had to comment on how simply perfect this item was for our Hollywood themed work party. I will use these as the centerpieces on alternating tables. Great size not too big and not too small. My only concern is that it will fall over (were a rowdy bunch!). I think I'll just make it again and use a lot more tape. 14 more to go!

Really cool, once assembled, took me a little while and a lot of tape, but looked VERY nice once completed....Had to put together 10 of them, kinda time consuming, but worth it.

These were centerpieces for a compnay awards ceremony. We were able to write on each clapboard listing the honorees for the evening and their job in the company with how many years of service. Surrounded by a feather boa and fiber optic lighting with an aways statue...the tables really looked classy.

I purchased (1) of these to use as a centerpiece on (1) table. I'm glad I did not purchase 10, 20 or 30 of these! I found it very time consuming to put together, flimsy and I added pieces of tape to strengthen it in a couple places and it still looked bad. AVOID!
